Hopeful start for Hafizh at the Sachsenring

This weekend the MotoGP is a guest in the far east of Germany for the GP at the Sachsenring. The penultimate race before the summer break will be held on this compact and hilly circuit. Only the Dutch TT, which is scheduled for next week, separates the teams from a well-deserved holiday.

Jarno Janssen, team manager of NTS RW, saw the two drivers Hafizh Syahrin and Barry Baltus start the first training day of the German GP with passion. The Malaysian rider in particular was able to set good times and today approached the top 14, the group of riders who will be directly qualified for QP2 (the second qualifying session that will ultimately see the first six rows occupying the grid for Sunday’s race). “With a 17e Hafizh is in pretty good place and we are confident for tomorrow and we think we should be able to get to QP2” Jarno looks ahead to FP3.

For the young Barry Baltus from Belgium it is the first time that he rides a Moto2 racer here and that is not an easy task for the debutant. “It was very difficult for me today and this is certainly not an easy track to read. For tomorrow, with the help of my crew, I expect to improve my lap time and get closer to the top 20. It won’t be the NTS machine, because I have enough confidence in that”, says Barry.
