Zonta van den Goorbergh and Fieten Olie Racing GP will also race together in the Moto2 class in 2024 and 2025. The 17-year-old Dutchman has extended his contract with the sole Dutch Grand Prix team and will therefore continue to compete as a Grand Prix rider alongside Barry Baltus for the next two seasons.
After making his debut in 2022 as a 16-year-old rider, Zonta van den Goorbergh has made great progress over the past two seasons. In 2023 the Dutchman has twice finished in the top ten, scoring his first world championship points. Van den Goorbergh and Fieten Olie Racing GP have signed an agreement for 2024 and 2025, allowing the young Dutch talent to continue working on his development as a Grand Prix rider over the next two seasons. With Van den Goorbergh and Barry Baltus, the team has continuity on which can be built in all facets.
Zonta van den Goorbergh: "First of all, I would like to thank the team for the past two seasons. I am extremely happy and proud that we will continue together for another two years. It is important for me to keep developing myself in this class and that is certainly possible with the right people around me. I would therefore like to thank the team, sponsors, partners and my family for their support and commitment. The next two seasons I will continue to ride at Fieten Olie Racing GP and I hope we can achieve a lot of good results together during that period."
Jarno Janssen - Fieten Olie Racing GP team manager: "This contract extension of Zonta gives us stability which is very important for us. We create a stable situation within the team that allows us to continue to grow in all areas. With this extension for 2024 and 2025, both parties have expressed confidence in this project and we are very proud that, with Zonta and Barry Baltus, we have secured two very talented riders. Over the past two seasons we have built a certain level of trust and that is incredibly important. The team on Zonta's side will therefore remain unchanged for the next two seasons. In the past two seasons we have grown a lot together and the aim is to continue this trend. I am very happy and proud that Zonta will also ride for our team for the next two seasons and I hope we can achieve successes together."
