Van den Goorbergh and RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP begin a new chapter in 2026

Zonta van den Goorbergh and RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP will once again join forces in the Moto2 class in 2026. The 19-year-old Dutchman and the only Dutch Grand Prix team have extended their collaboration for a fifth season, marking a new phase for both parties.

Van den Goorbergh made his Grand Prix debut with the RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP team in 2022 at the age of sixteen and has grown — both literally and figuratively — ever since. Over the past seasons, the now 19-year-old Van den Goorbergh has shown that he can compete with the fastest riders in the Moto2 class, achieving front-row starts among other things.

Next season, both Van den Goorbergh and RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP aim to consistently compete with the leading riders in Moto2 every weekend and establish themselves as regular contenders at the front of the most competitive Grand Prix class.

In 2026, Van den Goorbergh will once again have Ayumu Sasaki as his teammate in the RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP pit box.

Zonta van den Goorbergh:
“I’m very happy to continue working with RW Racing GP in 2026, my fifth season with the team in the Moto2 class. This season hasn’t turned out the way we had hoped, but there are many changes happening within and around the team at the moment, and that gives me a good feeling. I will do everything I can to be ready for 2026 and to give 100% in pursuit of strong results. I want to thank the Waninge family, Javi, and Johan for their trust. I’m convinced that together we can take another step forward and achieve great things.”

Javi Martínez – RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP Team Principal:
“We are very pleased to confirm the continuity of Zonta Van den Goorbergh with our team. Zonta has been a firm bet and a true hallmark of our project, and we believe he deserves the opportunity to face another season with the right tools to showcase his full potential. He is a very young rider with tremendous talent, and we have complete confidence in him.”
