RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP ready for historic home race at TT Circuit Assen
This weekend, the tenth Grand Prix of the 2025 season will take place at the TT Circuit Assen. It marks the 94th edition of the Dutch TT and the 100th anniversary of the very first TT held in 1925 — a milestone that will be celebrated in a big way this weekend. RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP will also be present in full force at the TT Circuit Assen, not only with home rider Zonta van den Goorbergh and Ayumu Sasaki, but also with the now well-known RW VIP area, where hundreds of guests will be welcomed.
The Dutch TT is, without a doubt, the most important weekend on the calendar each year for RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP. For the team from Dwingeloo, the final weekend of June means not just racing on home soil, but also hosting hundreds of guests who will be treated to a top-class experience in the special RW VIP area. For three days, there will be on-track action that guests can follow from the best vantage point while enjoying food, drinks, and more entertainment.
After a challenging weekend at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, the team and riders are eager to achieve a strong result at the TT Circuit Assen. Both Zonta van den Goorbergh and Ayumu Sasaki have shown in recent weeks that they have the pace to score points, making that the clear goal for this weekend in Assen.
Zonta van den Goorbergh:
“Assen remains one of the most important weekends of the year. This time it’s back-to-back with Mugello, and we’re working hard to be fully fit and ready at the start after what happened in Italy. I’m confident that will be the case. I’m definitely looking forward to giving everything I have in front of the home fans.”Ayumu Sasaki:
“I am very excited to go to Assen for the home race of the team. I know it is a very big event for them so I am looking forward to be part of it, and I want to do well. The past weeks have been good and we have been improving the bike, as well as the feeling with the bike. We are going to continue working and hopefully achieve the best result of the year in Assen.”Jarno Janssen – RW-Idrofoglia Racing GP Team Manager:
“Assen is essentially the midpoint of the season and, of course, our home race — which is always very special for us. It’s a weekend where performance is key because we want to deliver our best at Assen. Looking at our current form, things haven’t gone our way lately, so it’s crucial we turn that around. Hopefully, we can do that this weekend. The conditions look good, and we’re really looking forward to it. Preparations are in full swing — we’ve set up our beautiful hospitality area once again where we’ll welcome a large number of guests. It’s going to be a very busy weekend, and together we’ll give it everything to provide the riders with the best possible support so they can perform on track.”
The race weekend at TT Circuit Assen begins with the first free practice session on Friday morning, followed by the official practice session at 14:05 in the afternoon. This session determines which fourteen riders advance directly to Q2. After a second free practice on Saturday morning, qualifying begins at 13:45 to set the grid for Sunday’s race. The 22-lap race is scheduled to start at 12:15 on Sunday.
After the MotoGP race, there will be a special Legends Parade, in which Zonta van den Goorbergh will also take part.
