#ValenciaGP: Flying start in rainy Valencia

On the opening day at the season’s finale, NTS RW Racing GP’s Joe Roberts and Steven Odendaal put in an outstanding performance in such tricky conditions due an unusual and extreme weather situation.

Extremely dark clouds and heavy persistent rain are indeed really something unusual for Spain so, since Thursday afternoon, the last race weekend of the year is so to speak a bit shadowed by the weather. But forecasts see a bit of an improvement for Saturday whereas Sunday’s race, most probably is to run in wet conditions too.

Apart from these tremendous circumstances, the Dutch team’s Joe Roberts and Steven Odendaal obviously felt that comfortable aboard their Japanese manufactured NTS machine, to see themselves matching the top spots during both wet Friday’s sessions despite some falls of each.

#4 Steven ODENDAAL (NTS RW Racing GP, NTS), FP1: P8 – 1´48.197 (17/17) / FP2: P17 – 1´49.982 (19/19):

“Overall, it wasn’t not so a bad day in the office even if I went down three times unfortunately. Obviously, this isn’t the way I want to start a Friday off. But I think we can analyse my mistakes and see how we can come back stronger for tomorrow. In the end, P8 after the first two sessions is a promising start at all.”

#16 Joe ROBERTS (NTS RW Racing GP, NTS), FP1: P4 – 1´47.707 (8/15) / FP2: P4 – 1´48.986 (11/18):

“Today was quite positive as we were consistently in the top five, ending up in P4 in the combined timesheet. That’s a really great start into the weekend. I had a couple of crashes, but many other riders had it too because the track’s conditions were really difficult. But I think if the race is going to be wet, we can have a really strong pace and we will battle for the win, depends how the things are going and if I will keep it up on two wheels.”
